What’s fishing for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend?

By on June 6th, 2020

Whether it’s getting on to a winter snapper or chasing a local Blue Fin, the weather’s great and there’s some great fishing to be had over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. If you are heading South Gippsland way, Gawaine will get you onto some amazing gummy fishing, as well as flathead, whiting, cal and snapper.

Locally, Chris is focussing on some really big gummy sharks both in Port Phillip Bay and offshore, as well as whiting and calamari on The Peninsular and quality pinkies on the east side of the bay. Hey, it’s the long weekend, so why not even try for an Elephant or school shark – Chris gives you all the options.

Aaron is heading to Apollo Bay after the tuna but also has plenty of options for whiting and calamari in Port Phillip Bay as the tides kick in on the back of the new moon.

Make sure you watch the tutorial videos before heading out. Doesn’t matter whether you are an experienced fisho honing your skills or you’re new to the game and want to learn the basics of fishing, there’s something for everyone.
