Changes to Stay at Home Restrictions

Under changes to Stay at Home Restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne recreational activities such as fishing and boating are not allowed effective from 6pm Sunday 2 August 2020.

A curfew will apply from 8.00pm to 5.00am each night, with exceptions for work or medical care and caregiving.

Exercise will also be limited to within 5km of your home. Exercise can continue to occur with only one other person, and will be limited to once per day, for a maximum of one hour. This does not include recreational activities such as fishing, boating or diving.

Regional Victoria
Stage 3 Stay at Home Restrictions will come into effect in Regional Victoria as of 11.59pm on Wednesday, 5 August. This includes the Mitchell Shire, where Stage 3 Stay at Home Restrictions will remain in effect.

In regional Victoria, recreational activities such as boating and fishing will be allowed under Stage 3 Stay at Home Restrictions. These activities should be undertaken close to home with household members or one other person. A distance of 1.5m must be maintained between participants.

Improve your fishing with Salt Guide

Just to let you know of a couple of extra features Salt Guide will be providing over the lock down period.

Regular LIVE WORKSHOPS / CHATS. These were such a huge success during the last lock down and give our members the opportunity to experience the benefits and information of a live workshop all from the comfort of your own home. Type in your questions if you need clarity or just sit back and watch and learn. Even better, they stay up all week, so even if you don’t watch it live, you can replay it whenever you like.

Super informative tutorials that are a gold mine of tips and tricks, to supplement the weekly reports for those that can’t fish.

And remember, when all our members are out fishing again, our reports are covering more of the bay than ever before – and we haven’t even hit snapper season yet! Our newest recruit, Chris Cassar will be taking you from Altona all the way to the Mornington Peninsula on the snapper and other species.

We also continue to add new products and services to the CREW CARD which is already saving members hundreds of dollars. By taking advantage of the savings, members well and truly cover the few dollars a week it costs to be a Salt Guide member and help a lot of local, small businesses along the way.
